The Collins Good Writing Guide front cover claims it as The Essential Guide to Good Writing. It is a packed and comprehensive resource full of useful information for anyone who needs to reference their work on occasion - and surely we're not all that good that we never need to do this?
At the times my brain fuddles me for whatever reason and I can't remember where to place my possessive or contraction apostrophes, this book comes in very handy for a recap. How I cringe when I see 'apple's for sale' - the famous grocer's apostrophe - so it's something I dread to do myself! But I'm sure I've made silly mistakes like this in the past.
